Mistletoe

Mistletoe is a parasitic evergreen plant that lives on trees. This parasitic plant has yellowish flowers, small yellowish/green leaves and waxy, white berries.

Source: Wild Harvested from Romania

Folklore of Mistletoe:

The ancient Druids believed mistletoe to be an indicator of great sacredness because they thought that the berries of the mistletoe represented the sperm of the Gods. When pressed, a semen like substance comes out of the white berries. Mistletoe was also considered a magickal aphrodisiac.

According to the Anglo-Saxons, kissing under the mistletoe was connected to the legend of Freya. She was the  goddess of love, beauty and fertility. According to legend a man had to kiss any young girl who, without realizing it, found herself accidentally under a sprig of mistletoe hanging from the ceiling.
