Wildcrafted NZ is all about slow living. I will not always have everything available due to seasonal variations in availability of the herbs I use. And, due to our limited climate in our part of the world, we cannot grow everything here in New Zealand. I will always do my best to ensure that the herbs I offer are the very best in quality.

If you have a special blend request or questions, please let me know by sending me an EMAIL.

For extensive information on the medicinal value of herbs please see Richard Whelan’s website. Richard is not only one of the best Medical Herbalists in New Zealand – his website contains a plethora of valuable well documented information on herbs, their actions and how they can heal us.

Folklore

Folklore of Elderflower:

The Anglo-Saxons, medieval Danish and other Europeans believed that the elder tree was sacred. This sacredness came from a spirit or goddess believed to be the Elder Mother. She had the power both to protect and to cause harm. Part of the myth was that the Elder Mother enabled the elderflower plants to provide natural gifts and blessings in the form of the flowers, berries and the leaves. It was believed each tree part contained different powers. The leaves would protect a home and people from evil spirits if they were dried and hung in a doorway or around the person’s neck. It was also believed that if an elder grew near a home the tree would protect the home and all who lived there.
